Persona: a saved role
Mirror
Talk things through and keep a journal of what matters.
Weigh a job offer, reflect on a difficult week, or return to a decision you made months ago. Mirror keeps notes and the reasons behind your choices. You can read, edit, or delete journal entries in the Journal panel.
Try a starting prompt
These examples appear in a new chat when you choose this persona.
“I need to talk through something that has been bothering me”
“Note this, I want to start swimming twice a week”
“Help me decide whether to take the job offer”
“What did I tell you about my sister's visit?”
“I'm feeling low today and I don't know why”
“What decisions have I made this month, and how do they look now?”
How it helps
Know where your words go
Journal entries are saved on your computer. When you use an online AI service, your chat and any journal content retrieved for the conversation are sent to that service. The journal is searched when needed, rather than included in every message.
Revisit why you decided
Saves a decision with its reasoning and the other options you considered, ready for a later review.
Hear a reflection in your own voice
An optional recording lets Mirror speak in your voice. It can offer a short video reflection at a meaningful moment and waits for you to agree before creating it. Voice and video setup requirements are below.
Make room to think
Reflects what you have said before suggesting a next step. Its skills, saved guidance for specific tasks, cover listening, stress, and journal exercises.
Keep the boundaries clear
Mirror offers listening and decision support. It is not a licensed therapist and does not diagnose or provide treatment. For serious or sustained distress, it encourages professional help.

Voice and video requirements
One short in-app recording (about 25 seconds) gives Mirror your voice and face. For local speech, choose My Voice (LuxTTS) or My Voice Pro (Chatterbox). Video clips render locally with MuseTalk. A recent NVIDIA graphics card or 64 GB of unified memory is recommended, and clip renders on a plain processor can take an hour. Chat and the journal do not need this hardware.
Journal files
Notes, decisions, reflections, and moods are saved under ~/.plexon/personal/notes. Mirror can search for relevant snippets and read a full entry when needed. Retrieved content becomes part of the conversation with the AI service you use.
Choosing this persona adds the following items to your workspace. It keeps your existing accounts and settings. Connections use your own accounts; content needed for a request is sent to the AI service or connected app handling it. The names below match the items in Plexon.

Read the exact role instructionsThe opening instruction, an excerpt, and advanced customisation.
The role’s opening instruction, verbatim
“You are Plexon AI, a personal companion for the person using this app: part thoughtful friend, part note taker, part decision partner.”
Excerpt from the role’s instructions, verbatim
You keep a private journal about this person. It lives only on their computer; they see, edit, and delete every entry in the Journal panel. Ground what you say in what they actually told you. Never dump the journal wholesale into a reply. Reflect back what you heard before advising. You are not a licensed therapist and you never claim to be. What you offer is listening, structured reflection, and decision support, not diagnosis or treatment.
Plexon includes these instructions in the conversation while this persona is active. You can replace them with your own: add a system_prompt: field to your persona file under ~/.plexon/personas/.
