Or on a box of your own

A mini PC, an old laptop or a Raspberry Pi 5 that stays on becomes a Plexon Nous in one command. It installs the current release, starts it as a service that comes back after a reboot with nobody signed in, and prints the address, token and fingerprint that Settings, This computer, Enter by hand asks for. Once paired, the box signs in on your account and gets its own name under nous.plexon.ai. The app lists it under Your Nous boxes and reaches it through that name when you're away. It runs its own browser, so browser workflows run on it with no laptop connected. You can turn off its reach from the internet in the app to keep it on its own network only; the app asks first, because only a computer on that network can turn it back on. The app checks GitHub for a newer release and updates the box from the internet (Settings, This computer, Show all options, the box's Updates), or the box does it on its own at a quiet moment when you switch that on. You can also push a build from the app or run the same line again; the token stays.

Read a script before you run it: install-nous.ps1 · install-nous.sh. Each checks its download against the release's SHA256SUMS.txt before anything is installed. The Windows one also opens the port on private networks and turns sleep off; the Linux one installs git, Node, Chromium and what the box's browser needs with apt. To remove it, set PLEXON_UNINSTALL=1 and run the same line: the service and the program go, your data stays. More about Plexon Nous on your machine.
