Our Mission
Plexon AI is built on a simple principle: your data should never leave your machine. While most AI tools send your prose, your models, your client records, and your code to cloud servers for processing, we took a fundamentally different approach. We built a privacy-first, multi-persona AI desktop assistant that provides the full power of modern AI models while maintaining a zero-knowledge architecture.
Our stateless server processes requests and immediately forgets: no logs, no storage, no exceptions. The local Plexon engine handles file operations, session management, and tool execution entirely on your machine. API keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they ever leave local storage. This isn't a feature toggle or a premium tier. It's the foundation of every interaction with Plexon AI.
The Founder
Gerasimos (Makis) Maropoulos is a software engineer and the founder of Hellenic Development. He is best known as the creator of the Iris Go web framework, one of the most popular Go frameworks with over 25,000 GitHub stars and contributors from around the world.
With deep expertise in Go, systems architecture, and developer tooling, Makis built Plexon AI to solve problems he encountered firsthand: AI assistants that require cloud data access, lack specialized modes for different workflows, and offer limited automation capabilities. The result is a desktop application powered by a high-performance Plexon engine with 70+ RPC methods, 30 concurrent file workers, and a stateless server that processes 31 dynamically-assembled system prompt sections per request.
His technical background spans web frameworks, API design, concurrency patterns, and desktop application development. All disciplines that converge in Plexon AI's architecture. The choice of a high-performance backend daemon, cross-platform desktop delivery, and a fast, responsive interface reflects years of experience building performance-critical developer tools.
