What you need
No separate account is needed. Choose an existing Chrome, Edge, or Brave profile, a separate browser, or an extension that connects your open tabs.
Setup details
No account. Pick how it uses a browser when you add it: bind a real Chrome, Edge, or Brave profile, run isolated, or connect via the extension.
This is the testing one. It has assertion and locator tools the others do not, it can mock network traffic, and it runs the same page against Chrome, Firefox, and WebKit. It launches its own browser and starts signed out until you bind a profile, and it drives web pages only, not desktop apps. To browse as yourself, Browser MCP attaches to the browser you are already signed into. To run unattended, Agent Browser needs nothing clicked. The install screen explains the differences and lets you switch.
When a task uses an online app, that app receives the request. Its results may also be sent to the AI service handling your chat. You can turn the connector on for one workspace and leave it off for another.
Four browser connectors
Playwright tests websites across Chrome, Firefox, and WebKit. It opens its own browser and starts signed out unless you choose an existing profile. It works on web pages, not desktop apps. Browser MCP connects your existing browser tab, Agent Browser can run while you are away, and Chrome MCP adds more Chrome controls.
