Comparison

Plexon and GitHub Copilot

AI inside your editor and inside GitHub.

Copilot lives where your code lives. Plexon lives beside all of your work, of which code may be one part. This page is about telling those apart.

Where GitHub Copilot is the better choice

It is already where you work

Inside your editor and inside GitHub, with no extra window and nothing new to learn. That is a real advantage and it compounds daily.

The cheapest way in

There is a free tier, and the paid individual plan is $10 a month.

Pull request review where the pull request is

Reviewing on GitHub itself, in the thread, is more direct than approving a draft in another application.

Enterprise procurement is already solved

If your organisation has GitHub, adding Copilot is a line item rather than a project.

Which one do you actually want?

Pick GitHub Copilot if

  • Almost everything you do is in a repository.
  • You want suggestions in the editor without changing how you work.
  • Your organisation is already on GitHub and wants one bill.

Pick Plexon if

  • The job involves things that are not code: documents, spreadsheets, an inbox, a CRM.
  • You want work to happen on a schedule and report back.
  • You want to point it at any HTTP API, not only the ones a vendor has integrated.
  • You want a private company distribution channel for roles and knowledge.

The facts that decide it

You can use both

Plexon watches repositories you have cloned and drafts issue replies and pull request reviews that wait in an Approvals panel until you press Post. That sits alongside Copilot rather than replacing it.
